Pho - Vietnamese Beef Noodle Soup


We loved to go to Vietnamese restaurant and we always order Pho soup. 
Now, i try to cooked Pho Soup...

Here, I will share the recipe with you and maybe give you some ideas.

What you need :

--For the broth:
1/2 medium yellow onions, diced
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
4 pieces star anise
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 pound of sirloin or London broil or tri-tip steak, thinly sliced
1 1/2 tablespoons salt
4 tablespoons fish sauce
1/2 cup chopped cilantro
4 cup of water

--For the bowl :
Rice stick
1 green onion, green part only, cut into thin rings round
black pepper

--For garnish :
Leaves of sweet basil
Bean sprouts (about 1/2 pound)
Lime wedges
1 Jalapenos thinly sliced

--Extras :
Hoisim sauce
Chili sauce
Make it :

English version
- Cook the rice sticks in boiling water for 30 seconds, then drain.
- Bring 4 quarts water to a boil.
- Put all broth ingredients into sauce-pan.
- Stir it and let it until simmer.
- Just before serving, bring the broth to a boil.
- Arrange the bean sprouts, mint sprigs, chilies and lime on a platter.
- Serve the soup at once, with the garnish platter on the side.
- Let each person add sprouts, mint, chilies, lime, hoisim sauce and/or chili sauce to taste.

Indonesian version
1. Rebus, rice noodle hingga lunak, tiriskan. Letakkan didalam mangkuk.
2. Didalam panci sup, didihkan air. Masukkan daging, rebus hingga 1/2 masak atau sekitar 10 menit.
3. Masukkan star anise, hingga sup mendidih.
4. Masukkan bahan lain untuk sup. Cicipi.
5. Sajikan sup dalam keadaan panas.
6. Sajikan pula bahan untuk dimangkuk.
7. Letakkan bahan pelengkap didalam piring kecil, sajikan terpisah dari sup, sehingga setiap orang dapat menambahkan didalam mangkuk sup masing-2
8. Sajikan pula dengan bahan extra. Selamat menikmati ;-)

Cooking Time : 20 min

Servings : 2-3 bowls
