Double chocolate pudding with vanilla sauce

Another yummy dessert...

Here, I will share the recipe with you and maybe give you some ideas.

What you need :

Pudding :
- 1 pack gelatin powder, i used product from Thailand
- 1/2 cup dice chocolate or 8 pieces Hershey Kisses
- 200 ml fresh milk + 200 ml water
- 2 tablespoon chocolate powder
- sugar
- a pinch of salt

Sauce :
- 150 ml fresh milk
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch and dissolve with 2 teaspoon of water
- vanilla
- rum (optional)
- 1 teaspoon sugar

Make it :

1. Combine pudding ingredients in a sauce pan. Bring to a boil.
2. Pour into prepared mold then add chocolate. Store in refrigerate until firm or about 30 minutes.
3. Meanwhile in another sauce pan, combine sauce ingredients to a boil. Set aside and let it cool before pour into pudding.
4. Serve double chocolate pudding with vanilla sauce. Enjoy.

Preparation : 5 minutes
Cooking : 60 minutes

Servings : 2 servings

Mandarin Orange Pudding mixed with Blackberry juice

Perfect for dessert....
I used blackberry juice instead of water.

What you need :

- 1 can/11 oz Mandarin Orange Segments in light syrup, drain it and don't throw away the syrup
- 300 ml blackberry juice or your anything favorite juice + light syrup from the can
- 1 pack gelatin powder, i used Thailand product
- sugar

Make it :

1. Combine gelatin powder, mixed juice and sugar. Don't forget to taste. Bring to a boil.
2. Pour into prepared dish then add the mandarin orange. Store into refrigerate until firm or about 45 minutes.
3. Cut into pieces then serve.

Preparation : 2 minutes
Cooking : 60 minutes

Servings : 2 servings

Beef Soup - cooked with Indonesian Oxtail Soup Recipe (Sup Daging bumbu Sop Buntut)

I substituted oxtail with beef and turn out so good.

What you need :

- 1/2 lb beef, sliced 1x2-inches pieces
- 3 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 4 cloves shallots, minced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/3 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/3 teaspoon ground pepper
- salt
- oil or butter for saute
- 1 big potato, peeled from  the jacket
- 1 cup diced carrot
- 1 stalk celery, thinly sliced
- 2 stalks green onion, thinly sliced

Garnish ingredients :
- tomato,  sliced 1-inches pieces
- lemon lime juice
- crackers or potato chips
- fried shallots (available at Asian Store)
- Thai chili, crushed - if you desire

Make it :

1. In a pot, bring water to a boil. Add beef and ginger, let it cook until beef is tender.
2. Add carrot, cook for 2 minutes then add potatoes, green onion and celery, cook for 3 minutes.
3. Meanwhile, in a wok saute garlic and shallots with butter for 2 minutes, then pour into mixed soup. Add cloves, pepper and nutmeg. Bring to simmer for 5 minutes.
4. Adjust taste with salt. Let simmer for 2 minutes.
5. Remove into prepared dish and add garnish ingredients. Serve hot.

Preparation : 5 minutes
Cooking : 30 minutes

Servings : 2-3 persons

Tom Yum Goong - Thai Spicy Shrimp Soup



We bought big shrimp from Costco for a good price. I decided to make Tom Yum Goong, Thai Spicy Shrimp Soup.
Soup is always perfect for cold weather.

What you need :
- 1/2 pound shrimps, peeled from the jacket
- 2 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon ground galangal or 1/2 cm fresh galangal
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ground lemon grass or a stalk fresh lemon grass
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cloves shallot, minced
- 2 stalks green onion, sliced 1/2 inches pieces- 3 pieces kaffir lime leaves
- cilantro/coriander leaf as garnish
- 2 teaspoon fish oil
- 1 teaspoon chili paste or 2 pieces Thai Chili,crushed - if you desire
- 7 oz jar Straw Mushroom
- Lime or Orange Juice- Salt and sugar for taste

Note : 1 cup US = 236.58 ml

Make it :

1. Bring water to a boil, add dd garlic and red pearl onion. Let it simmer for another 3 minutes.
2. Add kaffir lime leaves, galangal, ginger root, fish oil and green onion.
3. Let it simmer for another 2 minutes. Add shrimps and mushroom, cook for 5 minutes.
4. Add salt and sugar for taste.
5. Place into prepared bowl. Add lime juice and cilantro as garnish then serve hot :-)

Preparation : 5 minutes
Cooking : 15 minutes plus

Servings : 2 servings

New York Cheesecake

This is my first i make cheese cake and turn out so delicious.

What you need :

Crust
- 1 cup crushed Honey Maid Honey Graham (about 6 grahams)
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 3 tbsp butter or margarine, melted

Cake
- 5 pkg. (8 oz each) Cream Cheese, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp flour
- 1 tbsp vanilla
- 1 cup sour cream
- 4 eggs
- 1 can (21 Oz.) cherry pie filling
Make it :

1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Mix crumbs, 3 tbsp sugar and butter; press firmly onto bottom of pan. Bake 10 minutes. Crust is ready and set aside.

2. Beat cream cheese, 1 cup sugar, flour and vanilla with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Add sour cream; mix well. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing on low speed after each addition just until blended. Pour over crust.

3. Bake 40 minutes or center is almost set. Cool completely. Refrigerate at least 2 hours or overnight. Top with pie filling before servings. Store leftover cheesecake in refrigerator.

Note : I skip the filling because cheesecake is already perfect even without filling :-)

Preparation : 15 minutes
Cooking : 55 minutes

Servings : 8 pieces ( if you made from 1/2 recipe)

Baked Chicken Wonton

This time i bake the wonton. Turn out so good and i think this is any idea for a tray food.
You can substitute the filling ingredients and doesn't necessary the same as what i did :P

What you need :

- wonton wrapper
- 1/2 cup grated carrot
- 1 stalk green onion, thinly sliced
- 2 coves garlic, shredded
- 2 teaspoon corn starch
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 cup cube cooked chicken
- sugar
- salt
- ground pepper

Make it :

1. Preheat oven 350 degrees F. 

2. In a bowl, mix and combine wonton ingredient except wonton wrapper. Gradually blend until smooth. Don't forget to taste.

3. Place 1 wonton skin in each of 12 lightly greased regular-size muffin cups, gently pressing skin into bottom and up side of each cup (points of wonton skin will show above cup edge).

4. Place the teaspoon of filling in the middle of the wrapper. Bake 7 to 10 minutes or until top 1/4 inch of wonton skin are golden brown.

5. Remove into prepared dish and serve hot with your favorite chili sauce or you favorite soup. Enjoy. :-)

Mixed Beans Soup

This time i don't cook the beans until tender but not until mushy and i adding another spices to make it tasty.

What you need :

- 1 pack mixed beans (6 oz)
- 1 chicken thigh/beef, cube slice
- 2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/3 cup minced onion
- salt
- pepper
- 2 cup water

Make it :

1. In a pot, bring water to a boil. Add mixed beans and chicken. Let it cook until bean is almost tender or for approximately 7 minutes.
2. Add onion and garlic, saute gently. Cook until bean tender.
3. Adjust taste with salt and pepper.
4. Remove to prepared dish and serve hot :-)

Preparation : 3 minutes
Cooking : 20 minutes

Servings : 2 servings

Mung Beans Soup for Dessert (Bubur Kacang HIjau)

Mung Beans is available at Asian store. If you put the mung beans soak to the water, in a few days it will be bean sprouts.

- 2 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon granulated white sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup water
- a pinch of salt

Make it :

1. In a pot, cook mung beans and water until tender. Saute generously.
2. Add sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, milk and salt. Let it simmer for another 2 minutes.
3. Remove into preparation bowl and serve hot :-)

Sauteed Shrimps with Green Chili and Asian Herbs (Tumis Udang Cabe Hijau)

Last night we bought shrimps from Von's store. This lunch i decide to cook the shrimp and make this dish.

You can find the Asian Herbs at Thai Store or Indonesian store, because they have the same ingredients for cooking.

I serve with steamed black rice and salad mix.

What you need : 

- 1/2 pounds uncooked shrimps, peeled from the jacket
- 4 cloves shallots, thinly slice
- 2 cloves garlic, thinly slice
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 2 kaffir lime leaves
- 1/4 teaspoon ground lemongrass or 1 stalk fresh lemongrass,bruised
- 1 green chili or jalapeno, seeded, thinly slice
- 1 stalk green onion, thinly slice
- salt
- sugar
- ground white pepper
- 50 ml water
- 1 tablespoon oil, for saute
- lemon lime, for garnish

Make it :

1. In a hot skillet, add oil then saute garlic, shallots for 2 minutes.
2. Add ginger, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, jalapeno, water, combine it then add shrimps. Saute gently for another 10 minutes.
3. Add green onion and adjust the taste with salt, sugar and pepper. Let cook for another 1 minute.
4. Place into prepared dish, garnish with squeeze lemon and serve warm.

Preparation : 5 minutes
Cooking : 15 minutes

Papaya Pudding

Here is another easy to make a fruit dessert, have a good taste and perfect for your dessert.

I've been eat this many times when i am at Jakarta, but i never found the recipe. This is my original recipe, i made it with my confidence and turn out so great :-)

What you need :

- 1 papaya, cut ends part, peel from the jacket
- 1 sachet pudding powder
- 250 ml fresh milk
- 150 ml water
- sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- a pinch of salt

Make it :

1. Cut 1/3 part of papaya, seeded, cut into small chunk.
2. Combine : pudding powder, sugar, milk + water, vanilla, salt then bring to boil.
3. Pour on top of the papaya and add small chunk from the papaya meat. Place into refrigerate until firm.
4. Cut into pieces then ready to serve :-)

Preparation : 5 minutes
Cooking : 5 minutes




Lemper Ayam (Steamed Sticky Rice with Chicken Filing)

This is one of Indonesian traditional snack. Mostly we served this for special occasion. While I am at Indonesia easy for me to find at snack store especially at Java.

I bought the sticky rice from Thai Store at Lompoc.

This is one of my favorite snack :-)

What you need :

- 2 cup sticky rice, soaked for 1 hour, steamed for 10 minutes with little bit water
- 200 ml coconut milk 
- 1 stalk lemongrass, bruised
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/4 salt
- loaf pan (i used mini loaf pan), lightly grease with oil

Chicken Stuffing :
- 200 gr chicken breasts, broiled, drain, shredded
- 2 kaffir lime leaves
- 1 stalk lemongrass, bruised
- 4 cloves shallots
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon tamarind juice
- 2 candle nuts
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground white pepper
- 150 ml coconut milk
- 1 tablespoon oil, for saute

Make it :

Sticky Rice :
1. In sauce pan, boil coconut milk then add lemongrass, bay leaf and salt. Add steamed sticky rice, saute continuously until coconut milk is fully absorbed by the sticky rice. Set aside.

Stuffing :
1. Finely crush : shallot, garlic, coriander, candle nuts.
2. In a hot skillet, add oil then saute crushed seasoning for 2 minutes under moderate heat. 
3. Add shredded chicken, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, pepper, coconut milk, tamarind juice, and saute gently until evaporate.
4. Adjust taste with sugar and salt. Remove from the heat. Set Aside.

- Spread a half sticky rice into prepare loaf pan. Place cooked chicken stuffing, then spread the other half of the sticky rice on top of the stuffing. Steamed for another 15 minutes.
- Let it rest for another 10 minutes. Remove from the mold, cut into pieces.  Ready to serve :-)

Preparation : 20 minutes
Cooking : 1 hours

Servings : 10 pieces

What you need :

- 3 chicken thigh or any part from the chicken
- 3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1 piece tomato, diced
- 1 piece jalapeno, seeded, thinly sliced
- 3 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 stalk green onion, thinly sliced
- granulated sugar
- salt
- ground pepper
- 100 ml water
- 1 teaspoon butter and 1 teaspoon oil, for saute

Make it :

1. In a hot skillet, add butter+oil then saute gently garlic and onion for approximately 3 minutes under moderate heat.
2. Add tomato, green onion, jalapeno and soy sauce, saute for another 1 minutes. Add chicken and water. Reduce the heat and cook until water evaporate.
3. Adjust taste with salt, sugar and pepper. Saute and combine, let cook for 1 minutes.
4. Transfer to serving plate and serve hot with another side dish. Enjoy :-)

Cooking : 25 minutes

Roasted Chicken

You can buy the rotisserie chicken at grocery store, and they're actually pretty good. But of course I think I can do better, so we made it at last Saturday for dinner.

What you need :

- 1/2 stick softened unsalted butter (2 oz mentega, lelehkan)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh sage (1 sdm daun sage)
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest (1 sdm air jeruk nipis)
- 1 tablespoon Dijon-style mustard (1 sdm mustard)
- 1/3 teaspoon salt (1/3 sdt garam)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper (1/4 sdt merica hitam bubuk)
- 1 (6 pounds) Fresh Whole Chicken, thawed if frozen. (1 ayam utuh, biarkan di suhu ruangan apabila sebelomnya disampan di lemari es)

Make it :

1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Combine butter, herbs, zest, mustard, salt and pepper in work bowl or food processor, cover. Process until well blended.

2. Remove neck and giblets from body and neck cavities of chicken. Reserve giblets for stuffing recipe or dripping sauce. Place half the butter mixture under breast area. Rub remaining butter mixture over breast and legs of chicken.

3. Carefully work fingers under skin on breast of chicken. Place half the butter mixture under breast area. Rub remaining butter mixture over breast and legs of chicken.

4. Place chicken, breast side up, on a flat rack in a shallow baking pan.

5. Roast chicken another 2 hours or until meat thermometer reaches 170° F, when inserted into the deepest part of the thigh.

6. Let chicken stand 10 minutes before carving. Serve with gravy :-)


Indonesia version

Cara memasak :

1. Panaskan oven 325 derajat F atau 169 derajat C. Campurkan semua bahan kecuali ayam didalam mangkuk. Aduk hingga bumbu tercampur rata.

2. Hilangkan bagian leher dan bagian dalam/jerohan ayam. Sisihkan bagian dalam ayam untuk membuat saus. 
Dengan menggunakan tangan, buat jalan didalam kulit, antara kulit dan daging untuk memasukkan bumbu.
1/2 dari bumbu oleskan ke kulit ayam bagian dalam (bagian dalam diantara kulit dan daging) hingga rata. 

3. Sisa bumbu oleskan di bagian kulit luar ayam hingga merata, dan oleskan pula di bagian lain ayam.

4. Letakkan ayam yg sudah dibumbui ke dalam wadah utk meng-oven, letakkan dada ayam menghadap ke atas.

5. Oven ayam selama 2 jam atau cek dengan termometer utk daging hingga suhu mencapai  170 derajat F atau 77 derajat C.

6. Setaleh ayam matang, keluarkan dari oven, diamkan ayam selama 10 menit, baru potong-2 dan sajikan.

Cooking : 2 hours (for 6 pounds whole hicken)

Chicken Gravy from Pan Drippings - Roasted Chicken


This dish is complement for the roasted chicken.
You can pour on top of the sliced chicken or massed potatoes.

- 1/4 cup Chicken Pan drippings - i added more
- 3 cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoon cornstarch, place into bowl and dissolve with 3 tablespoon cold water
- cooked, finely chopped giblets from chicken - optional
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped

Make it :

- Place pan drippings and chopped garlic in medium saucepan
- Blend mixing cornstarch into pan drippings. Gradually blend in broth until smooth.
- Bring into boil. Reduce the heat to low. Simmer for another 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Add finely chopped cooked giblets, if desire.

Servings : 16 servings
Cook Method : Boil/Simmer
Preparation : 10 minutes
Cooking : 10 minutes or less

Vermicelli and Mushroom Soup with Meatballs

What you need :

Meatballs
- 1/4 lb ground beef
- salt 
- ground pepper
- 2 tablespoon corn starch
- 1/3 cup cold water

Soup :
- 3 cloves shallots, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 2 stalks celery, thinly sliced
- salt
- pepper
- 1/2 cup Shitake mushroom
- 1 stalk green onion, thinly slice
- 1 teaspoon butter for saute
- 2 cup chicken broth
- vermicelli

Make it :

1. In a pan, bring water to boil. Combine meatballs ingredients to bowl. Mix thoroughly. Shape into 1-inch ball. Place into boil water until meatball is float. Set aside.
2. Meanwhile in a hot skillet, saute garlic, onion and shallot with butter for 2-3 minutes.
3. In a pan, bring water to boil, then add saute garlic, onion and shallot and add sliced green onion and celery. Let simmer for 2 minutes.
4. Add vermicelli and mushroom. Let cook until vermicelli tender enough.
5. Adjust taste with salt and pepper.
6. Transfer to serving bowl with meatballs, serve hot and add chili sauce if you desire for hot taste :-)

Preparation : 5 minutes
Cooking : 20 minutes

Servings : 2 servings

Gluten Free - Mixed Nuts Cookie

This cookie is gluten free also egg free. You can substitute gluten free formula with all purpose flour.

What you need :

- 250 gr gluten free formula
- 100 gr powdered white sugar
- 125 gr mixed peanuts, chopped
- 125 gr oil - i used peanut oil 
- a pinch of salt 
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract 
- egg yolk for spread 
- cookie sheet
Make it :

- Preheat oven in 325 degrees F and prepare baking dish with ungreased cookie sheet.
- In a bowl, mixture all ingredients with hand or spatula until blended together.
- Roll out the dough to 44 mm thickness.
- Shape the pastry using cookie cutter, then add a half of peanut on top then spread with egg yolk.
- Bake for another 15-18 minutes.
- Let it cool for another 5 minutes before serve . and This cookie can be stored at airtight container at room temperature, up to 5 days :-)

Preparation : 15 minutes
Baking Time : 16 minutes

Servings : 600 grams

Bakso Daging+Wortel (Meatballs mixed with shredded carrot and serve with soup)

What you need :

Meatballs :
- 1/4 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup shredded carrot
- 1 stalk green onion, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- salt
- ground pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, shredded
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Soup :
- 3 cup chicken broth or any type of broth
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- salt
- ground pepper
- broccoli or bok choy, cut ends part

Make it :

1. Combine meatballs ingredients in large bowl. Mix thoroughly. Shape into 1-inch balls. Place in steamer. Steam for 15 minutes or until fully cooked. Set aside.
2. Meanwhile, in a pot, bring broth to boil. Add garlic and onion. Let it cook for approximately 3 minutes.
3. Season with salt and pepper. Don't forget to taste. Add bok choy or broccoli, let it simmer for another 2 minutes. 
4. Transfer to serving bowl and add meatballs. Serve hot and add chili sauce if you are desire :-)

Preparation : 5 minutes
Cooking : 15 minutes
Servings : 2 servings (make 8 meatballs)

Portobello Mushroom Saute (Tumis Jamur Portobello)

This is another easy and quick to prepare and cook mushroom.
This dish is serve with steam rice and oven fried chicken.

What you need :

- 1 portobello mushroom cap, halved and thinly sliced.
- 1 piece jalapeno, seeded and diced
- 3 cloves shallots, minced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 stalk green onion, thinly sliced
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger or 1 cm fresh ginger
- sweet soy sauce - or you can substitute with regular soy sauce + sugar
- salt
- ground pepper
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 teaspoon oil and 1 teaspoon butter, for saute

D3sy's Kitchen Tips :
- You could cut off the black portion on the cap before using the mushroom. It won't affect the flavour.


Make it :

1. Add oil and butter to the pan. Add garlic, shallots, ginger and saute 2 to 3 minutes under moderate heat.
2. Add mushroom, green onion, sliced jalapeno, water and season with salt, pepper and sweet soy sauce. Saute mushroom 6-7 minutes.
3. Cook for 2 minutes. Transfer mushroom to a serving plate. Enjoy.

Preparation : 5 minutes
Cooking : 10 minutes
Servings : 2 servings

Acar Kuning Segar ( Cucumber and Carrot Pickle )


This is Indonesian pickle's version. This dish made from sliced cucumber, sliced carrot and served with light gravy. 
This dish is perfect as side dish for yellow rice or chicken satay.
It has sweet, sour and little bit tangy taste.

What you need :

- 1 piece big cucumber, peeled, sliced into 1x2-inches pieces
- 1 piece big carrot, peeled, sliced into 1x2-inches pieces
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- 2 cloves shallots, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, sliced
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger or 2 cm fresh ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric or 1 cm fresh turmeric
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoon granulated white sugar
- 1 1/2 cup water
- 3 pieces Thai Chili, if you desire

Make it :

1. In a pot, bring water into boil then add garlic, shallots, ginger and turmeric. Let it simmer for another 5 minutes.
2. Add carrot, let it half way cooked. Then add cucumber and Thai chili. Let it cook until cucumber and carrot are tender enough but do not overdone. 
3. Add sugar, salt and white vinegar. Don't forget to taste. Let it simmer for another 2 minutes then remove from the heat.
4. Serve warm with another dishes.

Preparation : 5 minutes
Cooking : 10 minutes
Servings : 2-3 servings

Turkey, Vegetables and Pasta Soup


Here is another way to cook your Turkey Left-overs.

What you need :

- 1 cup sliced cooked Turkey
- 2 1/2 cup water or broth
- 1 cup diced carrot
- 1 cup diced tomato
- 1 cup sweet peas
- 1/2 cup pasta - i used pipe
- 2 stalks celery, sliced into 1-inches pieces
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup thinly sliced onion
- salt
- ground pepper

Make it :

1. Bring water or broth into boil. Add turkey, cook for another 5 minutes under low heat.
2. Add garlic and onion. Let simmer for another 3 minutes.
3. Add carrot, celery and tomatoes, cook until carrot tender but do not overdone.
4. Add pasta and sweet peas. Cook for another 5 minutes.
5. Adjust taste with salt and pepper. Let simmer for another 3 minutes.
6. Remove from the heat and serve hot.

Preparations : 5 minutes
Cooking : 20 minutes
Servings : 2 servings
